Description:

This is a simple Java application that allows you to change the name of a map.

File Notes

Notes:
The first time you run the application, you will have to locate your map folder and select a map file. It will then create a text document in your AppData folder that simply saves your Halo CE map folder location (so that if you run the application in the future, it'll take you directly to your map folder and all you'll have to do is pick a map to open).

For Windows Vista/7 users
Since UAC does not allow you to write files directly to your Program Files, the new map will be saved in your AppData folder. If this does occur, don't worry about having to locate that folder because a new window should popup with your map inside. All that's required for you to do is copy or cut the map file and paste it into your HCE map folder.

How to use:
To run this Java application you need to have Java version 6 or later. http://java.com/

Step 1
Open the jar file with Java.

Step 2
A popup box should come up telling you to select a Halo CE map. Click OK.

Step 3
Locate your map folder and open a map.

Step 4
A popup box should come up asking you what name you want for your new map. Enter the new name into the textbox and click OK.

Step 5
You should either get a popup box stating that the map was successfully saved, or get a popup box stating that you don't have permissions to write files to your map folder. Either way, click OK.

If you got the popup box stating that you don't have permissions to write files to your map folder, then after you click OK, a new window should open with your new map inside. Copy or cut the map file and paste it into your map folder.

Step 6
Run Halo CE and see if it worked.
