Well, it has been a long time coming. It has been an enjoyable, experimental, educational and stressful experience all in the same time.As you may remember, we began development technically long before the HEK was even spoken of. Doublefire began work on his incredible New Mombasa, Nitrous put a lot of work into the PC version of the mod, from which content is still used, Supreme Taco made countless animations and models, Kerr Halla made the Halo 2 MC skin, and many other things were done by the other members. Well, folks, it has been a very exciting experience for us all, and we've learned a lot.

We've been flamed, we've been praised, we've been doubted, we've been supported, and through it all, we always knew we would pull through, for we were creating something for the best gaming community on the entire internet, the Halo community.

We know that this mod isn't the best possible work we are capable of. Keep in mind all of the alternate happenings that went on around us, and the fact that game design isn't our main occupations. That alone means that we a: aren't professionals and b: can't pay 100% attention to it. Regardless, we've done it. We have gotten Zanzibar to a satisfactory state, and even though there are a few bugs, they will be ironed out in the future, because every single Halo 2 Team member has agreed to support the mod long into the days of Halo 2's riegn.

Before we get started playing the mod, there are a few crucial things you should be aware of:

Destroyed vehicles have no collision modles because when you got hit by one of them, it would cause exception.

There is still some kind of nasty exception error problem that shows its face, and we are working on it. Please, don't lose faith.

The framerate isn't so wonderful, as it has already improved for future releases because we've found the problem.

A few animations are screwy and will be adjusted.

The SMG has no clip on its side.

The Hog horn is, well, yeah...

The debris scenery that seems to be in the worst spot ever was placed there for an uber good reason.

The windmill doesn't always sync over the net, but it does most of the time. And yes, we know there is one part of it with bad UVs.

Vehicles can only be destroyed by way of explosives and only when they are occupied.




We would also like to point out that this map, including other maps with be updated and made better and better in the future. We hope to see you there with us!
